Local Events Happening in Glens Falls 2/26-3/2
During the last Common Council meeting, I highlighted five events that are coming up this weekend in Glens Falls. If any of them interest you, be sure attend these lovely programs.
On Thursday, February 26th at 1pm, Adirondack Regional Chamber of Commerce will host a ribbon cutting for a new business on Washington Avenue in Glens Falls, the Use Less Store, owned by Kevin Kroeze.
On Saturday, February 28th between 11am-5pm, the Indie Book & Comic Expo will take place at the Shirt Factory. The building will be filled with author tables and bookstore deals all day.
Also on Saturday, February 28th between 1pm-3pm, the Adirondack Regional Immigration Collaborative will host a conversation on faith and immigration, titled "Welcome the Stranger", at the United Methodist Church in Hudson Falls, New York. Father Scott VanDerveer of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Reverend Dr. Natalie Wimberly of the First Baptist Church, and Pastor Michael Plank of the First Presbyterian Church will lead the discussion with the community.
The latest production from Glens Falls Community Theatre opens this weekend with "Ride the Cyclone", a 2009 musical set in an amusement park. Tickets are available in the box office at Charles R. Wood Theater.
On Monday, March 2nd at 7-8:30pm, the Feeder Canal Alliance and the Folklife Center are cosponsoring "History of Logging in the Adirondacks" in the Crandall Public Library Community Room, hosted by Dick Nason, who is a logging historian and retired Forrester with Finch Paper.
