This year, you became my mother-in-law after a decade of getting to know your son. He is an incredible person, and while you may not agree with our sexual orientation, we are perfect for each other in so many ways.

His kindness, intelligence, and love helped me realize my sexuality. He helped repair my internal psyche from the many years of bullying, and he brought the story of the Jesus back into my life. We complement each other’s strengths and weaknesses, helping to find our own ways to help each other and those around us.

You are also an incredible person, with an unbelievable story that transcends continents. Raising three intelligent kids must have been difficult, but now you get to enjoy the next chapter with two beautiful grandkids.
