Notable Items for the Council Meeting on 3/10

As warmer temperatures begin to melt the snow, the first March Common Council public meeting begins tonight n the third floor City Courtroom. I’ll highlight some resolutions below, but if you want more detail, be sure to delve into the wonderfully organized agenda.

• The Council will discuss and potentially approve nine mobile food and drink permits:

  • Juicy Burgers and More, owned by Dustin Flannery

  • Autumn’s Harvest Vineyard, owned by Tim Post

  • Brook’s House of Bar-B-Q’s, owned by Ryan Brooks

  • The Mac Factor, owned by Laura Mason

  • Main Street Distillery, owned by Jonathan MacKenzie

  • The Coffee Stable, owned by Laurie Collins

  • Nercessian Kettle Corn NYC, owned by Carla DeRasmo

  • Butternut Ridge Farm, owned by Debbie Stevens

• The Council will discuss and potentially approve the first two outside dining permits renewals from Davidson Brothers and Farmacy Restobar.

• The Council will discuss and potentially approve an agreement between the Warren County Soil & Water Conservation District and the Glens Falls Water and Sewer Department to improve its compliance with the NYSDEC Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System Permit requirements. The list of contract items is listed on page 143 of the agenda, with some notable items reprinted below:

  1) Develop a public education, outreach, and participation program

  2) Develop catch basin inspection and maintenance plans, including facility inspections and priority ranking.

• The Council will discuss and potentially approve an additional services proposal from AJA Architecture and Planning in connection with the 36 Incorporated Market Project. These additional services include development of a reduced project scope, revisions to construction documents, rebidding and direct solicitation of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing contractors, extension of construction administration services through May 2026, and coordination with Engineered Solutions for revised MEPF drawings. • The Glens Falls Parking Violations Bureau has indicated that they generated $7,693.16 in fines for February.

• The Council will discuss and potentially accept the nomination of Larry Elmen to the City Court Judge position to complete the term of retiring Judge Hobbs. For more information regarding his resume, I included a redacted link on my website.
