Lost Film Script | Part 1
Opens with the Palladino Productions logo fading into the sea. The camera moves through the edge of the sea to the water plants at the edge. It then moves to Jack laying on the sand. A subtitle appears on screen saying ‘CINNAMINSON, NEW JERSEY; YEAR 1575’. The subtitle disappears. The camera moves to the NATIVE AMERICANS that have found JACK.
NATIVE AMERICAN: [In his language; English subtitle] What is this pirate doing on this island? We must kill him for disturbing the peace!
Camera focuses on JACK again. The day changes to night. JACK decides to get up and explore the land. The camera shifts to him walking towards a fire. It is the NATIVE AMERICANS fire. He walks over to them.
NATIVE AMERICAN: [In his language; English subtitle] What is your purpose pirate? Why are you here?
JACK: I am Jack Mormon. I am here to find treasure and to explore these lands.
NATIVE AMERICAN: [In his language; English subtitle] No! These lands are sacred!
Camera focuses on JACK and the NATIVE AMERICAN. The NATIVE AMERICAN seems to be telling JACK to go to an area of land further into the forest.
NATIVE AMERICAN: [In his language; English subtitle] To find treasure, go to an uninhabited area of land in the forest. Many treasures await you there.
JACK begins to walk off screen to the area of land. The camera focuses on him as he walks. As he enters the area of land, he is attacked by a massive group of flies.
JACK: Damn bugs! Wait! No!
He literally disappears. All the NATIVE AMERICANS come and laugh at his death. But a shadowy figure comes along and kills all of them. The camera fades out.
The Ghosts of the Clubhouse logo appears. After a short moment, it fades into a tree house.
The camera moves, revealing an ordinary backyard furniture. A plate is heard breaking. Two girls run into the camera’s view.
JENNY: Do you think mom will notice that we broke her best plate?
MICHELLE: I hope not. I am just finished being grounded for the window accident!
JENNY: You know, we haven’t been in the clubhouse in a while. Wanna go into the clubhouse? We could play a board game.
MICHELLE: Okay. I just hope that mom doesn’t notice that we broke her plate.
MICHELLE and JENNY climb up to the top of the clubhouse. The camera moves away from them towards the window where LISA walks into the kitchen. She notices the broken plate on the floor.
LISA: Who broke my best plate!? I got that from my wedding! Who broke it!?
The camera moves into the house to watch LISA run upstairs to find JENNY and MICHELLE. Nobody is there. She then proceeds to run out the door. The camera zooms in as she runs out the door. She runs to the clubhouse.
LISA: Michelle? Jenny? Are you up there?
The camera moves to MICHELLE and JENNY in the clubhouse.
JENNY: [whisper] Do you think we should answer? Did she find the broken plate?
MICHELLE: [whisper] What else would she be calling for?
JENNY: [whisper] So, do you think we should answer?
In the back round, LISA’s voice could be heard again.
MICHELLE: [whisper] Okay. Maybe we should. It would be worse if we let someone else take the blame.
Both of the girls walk out the clubhouse door. The camera moves to reveal the expression on LISA’s face.
MICHELLE: Yes, mom.
LISA: Did you two break my wedding plate?
Both of the girls looked at each other.
LISA: Well?
MICHELLE: Yes, we did.
LISA: Why?
JENNY: We needed another plate to.. um..
MICHELLE: To carry a piece of your birthday cake to you.
LISA: Well, that was nice, but you two are still grounded.
MICHELLE: Why? We are sorry for breaking your best plate. Isn’t that enough?
LISA: No. You didn’t tell me right as it happened. So I am more angry then if you would have told me sooner.
JENNY: How long is the punishment?
LISA: Well, let’s just say you won’t be going to the Simple Plan concert tomorrow night.
MICHELLE: What! I have been waiting for that concert for months! Please let us at least go to that!
LISA: I am sorry, Michelle, but you broke my wedding gift and you did not tell me about it. If you would have told me about it before I saw it, I would be a little more generous to you.
JENNY: But mom..
LISA: No ifs, ands, or buts about it! You will not go anywhere until Monday! And you two should be inside because it is getting dark soon.
MICHELLE: We were just finishing a board game.
LISA: You do know that this grounding will also involve the clubhouse. So get inside or you won’t be able to go anywhere for two weekends!
MICHELLE: Okay.
MICHELLE and JENNY walk with LISA back to their house. The camera moves toward the clubhouse, while still keeping the two girls in view. It reaches the top and stops there. A hand appears. The hand is white, like a ghosts.
The camera fades out as the ghost disappears.
