The Unknown Story of Jack Mormon

Over a month ago, I published a book containing a bunch of short stories involving the adventures of Jenny and Michelle as they discover the mysterious Jack Mormon.  I have decided to release a small bit of the Jack Mormon back story. And here it goes....

In the year 1790, when pirates walked the earth and sailed the seas, a captain, named Jack Mormon, got stuck on top of a tree. Here is his amazing story:

Jack Mormon was a greedy ol’ pirate who never let a single soul on to his ship. This rejection of shipmates made his job as being captain much tougher to handle. When he was near the edge of the sea, near America, he thought he could find the treasure all by his self. He thought wrong.

When he was almost to the beach, a long-legged octopus sprang up and attacked the boat. He quickly searched for his sword, and started to chop the octopus’s arms off. After chopping off most of the legs, all he could see, really, was white water and a dismantled octopus. A few minutes later, he reached land, and he started to walk into the dark forest. He never knew what was going to happen next.

Tests, Essays, and Michael Moore... Oh My!

Posted on September 29, 2009 at 3:15 PM Comments comments (0)

What a couple days! I've been finishing up essays for my english and philosophy classes, taking a math test, and watching Michael Moore movies. Plus, in a couple days, I'll be able to see the Wizard of Oz instantly on Netflix... hence the "funny" joke in the title.

So far, I've seen Michael Moore's Bowling for Colombine and SiCKO. Those films are very interesting, and touch on very important topics such as gun laws and healthcare.  The former is especially important now considering the President's current endeavor with a universal healthcare system in our country.

SiCKO basically shows the "truth" about what will happen with a universal healthcare system by going to Canada, United Kingdom, France,  and (even) Cuba. It's an interesting and different take on the fear that the media (and insurance companies) force upon us.

Bowling for Colombine delves deeper in the reasons why someone would shoot up a high school. It scapegoats the violence in the media, African-American portrayal in the news, gun laws, etc. I feel that this film gave an acceptable view of those really evil kids.

Well, that's all I would like to write today. You may be seeing those two Michael Moore films in the Movie of the Day later this week. In the mean time, see yeah later!

Sleeping my life away... all day!

Well, as the title suggests, I did sleep (basically) the entire day yesterday. I went to my one class early in the morning, and then I was out the rest of the day. It was the best sleep in my life!

Anyway, I have work at Taco Bell tomorrow for a couple hours... and guess what else be tomorrow ye silly landlubbers? It be Talk Like a Pirate day! All ye need t' do is wear an eye patch fer one of yer eyes, carry a golden trinket, or jus' have some fun. I can' wait!

I know this is a little short, but I'll post tomorrow. See yeah later!

The Wizard World of... Holy Cow!

If you haven't seen the brilliant video tour of the Harry Potter theme park, watch it now. Seriously, it looks like it will be awesome, though I'm afraid that the over commercialization will destroy the magic.

Cool video, eh? I love how they integrated the Marauder's Map theme into the tour, along with concept art and movie scenes. Only a little under six months away... I can't wait!

College is still going smoothly. My history quiz today on the "New World" explorations was a piece of cake, though I believe a few of my answers might be a little off. Oh well. Both my math and english classes were good yesterday, and hopefully, my philosophy class tonight will be good as well.

Anyway, that's all I have to write about today. See yeah later!
